Are you the hands-on Scrum Master to lead our agile reset? Coach multiple teams in a DevOps environment. Translate agile theory into impactful practice! 🚀
Job description
We're currently strengthening our agile way of working and are looking for a hands-on Scrum Master who, together with our colleague Alex, will help drive that journey forward. No ivory towers or endless theories here. We believe in rolling up our sleeves and working alongside teams to make meaningful improvements.
You'll join an environment with 6 to 7 teams, where you and Alex will share the agile responsibility for multiple teams. Your focus will be on the practical application of agile principles, not because it's the rulebook, but because it helps our teams work more efficiently and enjoy what they do.
about benerail
benerail is the leading expert in international rail travel, making it easy for businesses to book cross-border train tickets thanks to our APIs, front-end solutions, and supporting services such as product data management and system integrations. As a joint venture of the Belgian and Dutch national railways, we’re committed to building a sustainable, attractive, and competitive European rail offering. Driven by our mission to reduce climate impact, our autonomous, purpose‑driven teams work from Antwerp and various locations in the Netherlands to shape the future of mobility—always connected, whether online or at the office.
About the role
Facilitate & coach: You'll facilitate agile ceremonies and help teams continuously improve and grow.
Remove obstacles: You're the bulldozer when it comes to impediments. You don't just report issues, you work with internal stakeholders to solve them.
Big picture mindset: Together with Alex, you'll take a leading role in quarterly planning activities (QBR/BRP).
Support & alignment: You'll support Product Owners with backlog management and ensure clear communication between developers and stakeholders.
Build culture: You'll foster a culture of transparency and continuous improvement within a DevOps environment.
Would you like to take a look behind the scenes and find out how we build that culture together? Sanne will be happy to tell you more about it!
Job requirements
about you
We are looking for someone who understands how group processes work and really gets teams moving, not a theorist who recites the SCRUM book.
Mindset: Direct, empathic, and hands-on. You dare to challenge the status quo and possess the persuasive power to turn resistance into enthusiasm.
Experience: At least 5 years of experience as a Scrum Master, with a proven track record of guiding multiple teams (3+) simultaneously. You also hold a recognized Scrum certification (PSM/CSM). AI knowledge is a big plus.
Tech savvy: Experience with Jira and Confluence is a must. Knowledge of working in a DevOps environment is a strong plus.
Languages: You are fluent in Dutch and English.
Location: You are willing to work from the office 2 to 3 days a week to ensure an optimal connection with the teams. Our office is located close to Antwerp Central, and is therefore easily accessible by public transport.
what do you get from us?
We believe that hard work and making an impact should be rewarded. That’s why we offer a complete package that goes beyond just your gross salary:
Salary & growth: An attractive monthly salary (€3.700 - €4.700 gross per month), tailored to your knowledge, competencies, and experience. Additionally, you receive a personal training budget (€2.500 per year) to keep your skills and certifications sharp.
Tailored mobility: An electric company car with a charge card. Prefer to choose how you travel? You can convert this into a flexible mobility budget (€9.576 per year).
Financial extras:
Meal vouchers of € 8 per day.
Eco vouchers (€ 250 per year).
A net expense allowance of € 170 per month (for home working and internet).
Holiday pay and an end-of-year bonus (allocatable via an extensive cafeteria plan for extra benefits).
Health & gear: A top-notch laptop and smartphone (budget incl. subscription) for both professional and private use. Furthermore, you are excellently insured via our DKV hospitalization and outpatient insurance, plus a group insurance plan (6% employer contribution, no employee contribution required).
our recruitment process
After a thorough CV screening, you'll be invited to a first online conversation with Cara, our HR Officer. If all goes well, you'll have a second online interview with our colleagues Alex (Scrum Master) and Sanne (Product Owner). Still excited? Awesome! We'll then be happy to welcome you to our office for a final conversation with Harald (Co-Director) and Pim (Agile Coach).
Good luck! 🚀
